2012 World Junior Ball Hockey Championships June 19th-23rd, 2012

• U16 Championship • Pisek, Czech Republic June 19th-23rd, 2012
• U18 Championship • Strakonice, Czech Republic June 18th-23rd, 2012
• U20 Championship • Pisek, Czech Republic

The World Junior Ball Hockey Championships for the U16, U18 & U20 are held every two years (even years) in various hosted regions. In past the U16 & U18 were held together in the same town early in the month of June while the U20 was held in a different city late in June. For 2012 the ISBHF along with the Czech Republic Ball Hockey Association will be hosting all three Championships in Pisek, Czech Republic, with majority of U18 games played in the neighboring town of Strakonice, Czech Republic.

Both these towns are a short 80 minute drive south of Prague in a beautiful area of the country. Canada currently holds the U16 & U20 World Trophies, while the U18 came home with silver. All three teams over the last two events (2008 & 2010) hold an impressive 5 gold medals and one silver. With very competitive teams competing from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary, England and possibly Germany and USA – Canada is ready to take on the world and stand high on the podium once again.

This high calibre event showcases the top Canadian ball hockey players from right across the country. Players have been chosen from extensive scouting at the major Canadian events in 2011 (listed below).

Ontario Ball Hockey Association Bantam and Junior Provincials
July 8th - 10th, 2011 - Mississauga, Ontario

The Ontario Ball Hockey Association Provincials are held every year in different Ontario host cities. This year the Bantam (born 1995 & 1996) and the Junior (born 1993 & 1994) are in Mississauga, Ontario. This high calibre event showcases the top ball hockey associations in Ontario competing against each other for a spot in the following year Junior Nationals. Ontario has been a hot bed for JTC players and this event will surely produce high level players for the 2012 JTC squads.

Western Challenge Cup
July 14th - 17th, 2011 - Edmonton, Alberta

The Western Challenge Cup have five divisions in this tournament. U10, U12, U14, U17, U19. This event is hosted in Alberta in odd years and BC in even years typically. Teams that participate are sent by local ball hockey associations within the Western Provinces. The majority of teams are “all star” selected players that make up the teams that compete at this event. The event has been running for over 10 years and have produced high level ball hockey players. Ontario Ball Hockey Association Peewee Provincials
July 15th - 17th, 2011 – Kitchener, Ontario

The Ontario Ball Hockey Association Provincials are held every year in different Ontario host cities. This year the Peewee (born 1997 & 1998) division is in Kitchener.  This high calibre event showcases the top ball hockey associations in Ontario competing against each other for a spot in the following year Junior Nationals. Ontario has been a hot bed for JTC players and this event will surely produce high level players for the 2012 JTC squads.

Junior Nationals
July 27th - 31st, 2011 - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

The Junior Nationals have three divisions in this tournament. U15 (born 1996 & 1997), U17 (born 1994 & 1995) and U19 (born 1992 & 1993). The teams that participate in the Junior Nationals are registered and sent by their Provincial governing associations.

In some Provinces, teams are selected the year prior while in other Provinces there are tryouts and player selections months prior to the tournament.
